What we collect

Everything we hold about you comes from one of three places.

• Your account

  The email address, display name, date of birth and country you give us when you sign up. Your password is stored only as a one-way hash — we cannot read it back, and we never see it again after the moment you type it.

• Your activity

  The play-money bets you place, the markets you propose or open, your VYRL balance and its history, and any request you send us — such as asking us to stop using your posts.

• Technical records

  The IP address your device connects from, and short-lived request logs. We keep these to stop abuse — a rate limit needs to know who is asking — and to find faults when something breaks.

What we use it for

To run the product: keeping you signed in, keeping markets fair, enforcing the limits published on this site, and keeping the record of every market honest so that anyone who took part can check the result. Nothing else. We do not build advertising profiles, and we have nothing to sell you.

What we never do

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not pass it to anyone except the infrastructure providers that physically run the product for us — who hold it only to run it. We run no advertising, no analytics scripts and no trackers: pages on VyrlMarket load everything from our own servers. When you follow a link to an original post, you leave for that platform, and its own rules apply from there.

What other people can see

The leaderboard shows your display name beside your standing — the name you chose, and nothing else about you: never your email, your date of birth or your country. You can change that name, or take it off the board, from your account page; off the board, your row carries an anonymous id. Markets show the play-money activity on them, not who it belongs to. Beyond that board, nothing you do here is published under your name.

If you make the content

Markets are about public posts, so we also process public data about them: a link, a thumbnail, the author handle, the publication time, and the counts platforms report over time. We never copy the media itself. Where those numbers come from — and how a creator can ask us to stop — is published on its own page.

Cookies and storage

We keep a sign-in token in your browser’s local storage so you stay signed in; signing out removes it. We set no advertising cookies and no third-party cookies of any kind.

How long we keep it

Your account data is kept while your account exists. The record of markets is deliberately permanent — past markets must stay checkable for everyone who took part in them. If you ask us to close your account, we delete what identifies you and keep only what those records need: the play-money numbers survive, your name does not.

How we protect it

Passwords are stored only as one-way hashes. Sign-in tokens are short-lived and rotate. Internally, the parts of the product that face the internet run with the least access we can give them — the service you talk to cannot alter balances at all. No system is perfect; this one is built so that a single fault reveals as little as possible.

Your rights

You can ask to see what we hold about you, have it corrected, or have it deleted, and you can revoke any consent you gave us. If you are in the EU or the UK these are your GDPR rights, and you can also complain to your local data-protection authority. To use any of them, get in touch and we will act on it.

Age

VyrlMarket is for adults. You must be 18 or older to hold an account, and we delete the account of anyone younger when we find it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the date below moves, and the change is visible in the product before it takes effect. We will not quietly widen what we collect.
